CPLC Conducts Workshop on Carbon Markets at ADSW

The importance of the successful implementation of carbon pricing and efficient running of carbon markets has increased significantly as countries rush to meet the emission targets under the Paris Agreement.
The virtual workshop will take place on Tuesday, 19 January 2021 at 12.00 – 13.30 CET / 03.00-04.30 GST.
Keeping this in mind, The Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition (CPLC), in collaboration with Dubai Carbon Center of Excellence (DCCE), EU-GCC Clean Energy Technology Network, Clean Energy Business Council (CEBC), and ENGIE, will be conducting a virtual workshop “The Synergy of Innovative Technologies and Carbon Market Developments in achieving Net Zero Carbon in the GCC region” in the framework of the upcoming Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW).
Over the last two years, CPLC has collaborated with a group of stakeholders of the region in organising seminars, working groups, and debates around the various issues and perspectives of carbon pricing and carbon market in the region.
After a high level lunch debate at last year’s ADSW in the framework of the Atlantic Council Energy Forum, they saw the need to conduct and invite all concerned stakeholders for a virtual workshop to further the knowledge and understanding of the topic and facilitate the path to Net Zero.
